Easter!

We had a quiet Easter at home this year. We colored eggs and had a wonderful brunch. Paul and kids made a yummy dinner....roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, etc. Last Easter was spent making memorial service arrangements for my mother, so this Easter was a big improvement.

Today (Monday) we are back to our regular schedule. The kids are back to school and I am back to work. Our weekly routine is in the midst of change though. Both kids start soccer practice...Scotty has one weekly practice with his first game on Saturday. Alex has two weekly practices with his first game being a week away (I think). They are still doing wrestling at North when there is no soccer interference. AND it's baseball time as well. PHEW!

My dad is headed back home after spending the winter in Florida in his RV. It will be nice to spend a weekend, here and there, with him. We all miss him so much!

Yesterday's Spring Weather

Yesterday was so nice! It was bright and sunny all day....the kids were out playing in the warm Spring air. Today, however, is a different story. It's gloomy, drizzly with a bit of snow mixed in. What's up with that? But while the weather WAS nice, I took a few pics of the lovely crocuses that come up each year under my horrid "gum ball" tree. I thought I would also include one of Snickers, the Cave Dweller. She makes caves or nests out of any blanket she can get a hold of.

We have had a house guest for several nights.....my work partner Scott G. He is renting a house out in the sticks in the middle of a cornfield. It's adorable, but there is one drawback.....his cellar fills with water when it rains allot. And when I say fills....I mean FILLS! He has been w/o heat and water most of the week. It's been nice having him around....the kids adore him!!!! And he always brings wine! lol

It's a world record for me......

THREE posts in one day. PHEW! I am wearing my fingers out! But now that my cell phone is back in working order as in my computer, I am taking full advantage of technology. For those of you who have been asking for picks of the craft area.....taaa-daaaaaa! It's mostly done. It needs a little tweaking here and there, but it's comfy and bright!

Our Great Escape

Be it ever so short, we DID have our great escape to The Great Wolf Lodge in Mason, Oh....right next to King's Island. The kids LOVED it! We got a great deal on a "gamer's package". Both boys got a free wand, free quests to do, pizza, drinks and free breakfast! The room was adorable.....Wolf Den. They had bunk beds and their own flat screen TV (as Alex pointed out). I have a bit of an aversion to water parks....gross! So I spent allot of relaxation time reading, sipping wine and watching the boys (including Paul) play in the water park, arcade and on their quests. We arrived Sunday mid-day and left late afternoon on Monday. The PERFECT amount of time. Any longer and I would have lost my mind. You would not believe how many families from Columbus we ran into.....probably a dozen! Very freaky! I did manage to work an hour+ massage into MY portion of the adventure. It was heavenly...and my first professional one! Wow....I am hooked! I am going to have one per month from here on out! Mama needs some personal attention and relaxation.

Snow Much Fun!

I took pictures of the boys playing in the BIG snowstorm we got (last week I think). The neighbors have, among a million other toys, 4-wheelers. The dad hooked a sled to the back of his 4-wheeler and took the cul-de-sac kids on thrill rides....eventually rolling them into clumps of huge, fluffy snow. Needless to day, this was a hit and such fun to watch!

Technological Breakdown

Notice the lack of photos? Notice the grumpy tone in my post (if not, you will...lol). Last Saturday my phone "mysteriously" died. Thanks to the sweet Verizon-guy Eric, I got a new one (FREE with all of my add-ons) on Tuesday. I still cannot get my Bluetooth to sync. Eric is going to be getting another call. Then on Monday when I got home from work my laptop "mysteriously" crapped out. It won't boot up...there is no display, etc. I still have a ton of warranty left on it, but Dell wants me to jump thru hoops before they will replace it. FINE! I will jump. THEN I want my new frickin' laptop!!!!!

So my now-supposedly peaceful, private, creative zone is causing me a ton of stress. It's pretty and coordinated, but not complete. I think I'll sew valances today....recover from yet another bout with the "flu" (or whatever all of those sick people we transport to the hosp. seem to have).

Sorry for the downer-post. I am just in a funk....and yes, I am taking my happy pills!!!!!! lol "Over-n-out!"

Where is Spring & THE "Tree Cozy Controversy"

For those of you who are not keeping up with the controversial tree cozy issue in Columbus, I though I would share some pix of the offending creations. Yes, the artisan knitters have decided to brighten our downtown due to the Commons Mall construction/demolition. For some reason this is causing a hurricane of "onions" to the local paper. Also shown are pix of the demolition of our beloved Commons Mall. I cannot wait to see the finished product. It is supposed to be quite magnificent! Columbus hides its problem areas OH-SO well and makes up for it with such grand structures as modern art, architecture and the beautifully designed (and soon-to-be expanding) hospital. Let's add the Commons Mall to the list. There is also a picture of the new hotel downtown....very pretty murals! on all 4 sides (I think).
